SHEFFIELD Eagles have signed up Iliess Macani on a one-year deal from Bradford Bulls, and Ben Blackmore has re-signed on a two year deal.
Macani, 23, has played at Super League level, and moves to the Eagles from the Bulls, he started his career out at the London Broncos.
During his time at Bradford he played 22 times, scoring ten tries, and speaking of the new man, the Eagles assistant head coach Keigh Senior said: “We are pleased to bring Iliess into the squad, he is a valuable addition to us in what will be a very difficult competition in 2018. We are continuing to work on finalising our squad and will be confirming more signings over the coming days and weeks.”
Blackmore who has signed a new two year deal at the Eagles will be staying at the club until the end of the 2020 season. The 24 year old, born in Castleford, has spent time at Huddersfield, Doncaster, Batley and Featherstone, before he moved to the Eagles.
He has so far made 52 appearances scoring 25 tries in his three seasons at the South Yorkshire side, and Senior is pleased the club have managed to sign the winger up to a new contract.
On Blackmore’s decision to stay, Senior said, “We are pleased to be able to retain Ben’s services for another two years.
“It provides consistency for us and Ben, I’m sure Ben will continue his excellent form over the next two seasons and hopefully beyond.”
